even with "open" systems it is not that simple.
How many years did it take for the blindscan to arrive on Enigma2.
When we asked the question, there was a "no" answer; when the developers remained polite, which was not always the case, saying that the satellite.xml was much better.
You are making a comparison to such a different thing. When a modification is purely dependent on python coding, the support from the big E2 teams is always relatively fast. Blindscan is not only dependent on python, but mostly on closed drivers provided by the manufacturers. Even db measurements is driver dependent, and in many cases E2 teams have made fake conversions to db's (in most Vu models in particular) to please the user end. In GTmedia's case, there is absolutely no excuse to have the signal in nonsensical percentages, only because the app developers neglect to modify the code for something that is already supported and provided from the tuner side.

If any of these "B2" feeds pop up again the CAID hex/decimal value will indicate if it is Poop-2.
Looking at the screen grab it has CAID of 2610, definitely Poop-2

@John Is it possible that the picture in the background was from a previous channel that you had been on or was it an active picture of the frequency represented in the Channel Information overlay?
If the Combo was unable to provide a picture it may have retained the picture from a previous channel. I have seen this occur with E2 receivers.

Beyond belief that a £50 junk box from China can bitch Poop-2.
There is more to this than meets the eye re the screen grab, needs poking with a TBS card or some other snooping guff.

yep, seen it before in the past also but never displayed anything .... i first thought that the receiver gave up on displaying B2 and reverted back to the previous channel that it looked at, which was an EBU tx so i deliberately chose a fta channel elsewhere and opened it and observed the screen logo etc and then went back to the B2 channel to see after a while if it gave up trying and displayed the other test freq / channel - which it didn't.

@John

Are you saying the frequency with CAID of 2610 and indicated as B2 had an active and moving picture underneath the Channel Information overlay?

sometimes it happens that a channel is indicated as encrypted, but it is for a certain duration FTA.
It would have been necessary to try this channel with another receiver to know if it was really encrypted at this moment.

Yes, the picture was active but i only got a minute or so to do the double checking as indicated in post #725 before it dropped...... but i'm not 100% sure that it was a B2 that was displaying.
I'll get another receiver running at the same time as Stephan says and see what happens.

Poke it with TransEdit and a TBS card, that will tell you what is going on re encryption.

I'm on it now - looking at fx 11.018 H @ 7East now - TM MiniOne just reports 'Biss' , Combo is reporting B2 CASID 2610@0. Just warming up the TBS 6903 for further info

'ere, cop for this TransEdit screen shot, 11018H is deffo Poop-2 with CAID of 2610.
'ave you got active moving pictures from it in yer Combo?

I have black screen, no pictures, it looks like Poop-2 cannot be poured except by chefs.

Aye, no B2 cleared 'ere either.
All the same, it is useful that the Combo recognises the B2 CAID and displays the info.

Chats amongst the beta testers before a release of the official version probably, is that such a problem?
Beta testers???? I strongly doubt it. Everyone is a beta tester for the Combo here.

That can be said for every receiver that is released then if that is the case!

Exactly. That is the case. Those who experience difficulties with the receiver alert the manufacturer on their forum and if the manufacturer sees fit they address them. It really doesn’t get any simpler. They don’t issue beta test badges to box owners.

Playing tricks again or not ?. There was the odd blip of tech chat on the audio at one stage.
