Hi Guys,
Just bought a 5402 M3 to replace my 6900 which died.

One of the main reasons for buying it was the face that it had an RF output but i'm having real difficulty getting it to work. The UHF button on the remote just takes you to the A/V menu which doesn't show any relevant RF info. With a lot of playing i can get the front display to show U-40 (which i assume is UHF channel 40) but i've tries 2 tv's tuned to channel 40 with no success. I've tried updating the genuine Tecnomate firmaware with their latest version and tried Phantom Patches 116p and the lates 126p.

Is anyone able to offer any help with this please:

Yes that's very strange. The 2 lines on the AV menu which refer to RF settings are missing from my menu on each of the 4 patches I have tried (2 genuine and 2 Phantom). Certainly explains why I'm having problems.

I also notice that when I plug the RF cables in , the existing signal on the cable disappears to the point where I can't get any of my usual channels on the other TV's in the house.

It's almost like the RF modulator is locked onto ch40 and this is causing interence on the other channels.

Yes I'm absolutely sure I loaded the right one. It had this menu without the RF options straight out of the box with the proper Technomate firmware, again with the latest firmware straight from the Technomate support site and then again with 2 M3 Phantom patches.

Let's hope this isn't a new "M3.5" with an "update" that doesn't include a RF modulator. To be honest I'm surprised Technomate still include one, almost everyone else seems to be giving up on them but I still think they are useful for piping around the house.

Send it back.Or you could try this first:
1) Back up Channel List and long/lat settings for usals(if you have a motor).
2) Factory reset stb
3) Power off at back of stb for 40 secs
4) Load latest patch
5) Factory Reset
6) Switch off stb at back for 40 secs.
7) Reload backed up Channel List and long/lat settings.
8) Biss,cs and softcam should remain.

That's good to know, it just annoys me I had to buy two original TM6900s that didn't include them but the receivers still work so haven't upgraded them yet.

I have (well, Maplin) but it's annoying to have to power them up externally, more cables, boxes, etc to add to the jungle behind the TV.

Tried everything posted here but still no luck.
I even started to wonder whether it was a different box but if it has the RF aerial connectors i think it's safe to expect it to have the RF modulator.

Hi guys,
Just an update. I contacted Technomate support who suggested changing a power saving setting and a firmware update but neither worked. Sent it back to the seller who replaced it. All works fine now straight out of the box without even having the latest firmware on it.
RF options are now in the AV menu and all my existin tv RF signals pass through the box perfectly.
Looks like it was a faulty RF modulator in the original box.
Thanks for your help on this.

Glad you got it sorted in the end. Very odd problem though!
