Yes, there's a long thread about it on DigitalSpy with people moaning (inc me ;) ) and threatening to cancel. Could they have gone too far this time? I'll probably go down to the original bundle or even cancel, depends a little on what the situation is like this summer after Eutelsat 28A shuts down. If I had access to more FTA British channels I certainly wouldn't bother with Sky any more, not worth it in my view (and this is coming from a long term subscriber since 1991!).

PS. Notice how they are going up early this year, usually this happens in September. Hope they don't plan another one then!

In my case it's an extra £3.00 a month making £36.00

We pay more than double that, but I have told the wife to cancel some packages we are paying for movies and kids programmes, we don't watch the movies, we use the raspberry for that, and the grandkids only come once a week .

I've taken to recording programmes for our children from Rai Scuola; there is a lot of English-language material (ostensibly for learning English) broadcast there. Plus of course they watch children's programmes on BBC3 and 4 and sometimes CITV. BBC programming for children is far superior to what is available on French TV, which seems to be 90% Inspector Gadget.

I am thinking of telling them where to go!

Was thinking about a gigablue quad hd plus, 3 sat tuners and 1 freeview hd tuner.

The built in sat on 28.2e free sat and 1 sat tuner on my gibertini.

Any thoughts?

This is no surprise at all. Sky see their customers as a cash-cow and soon I'll be free of this millstone around my neck. Will I come back to Sky? They have more chance of knitting fog :).

I wish I could get Virgin (behave Pete :D) there BB is very fast and I prefer the layout,

No joy with sky £91.50 we paid last month with calls, the kids channels are in with a package, if I dropped them I would lose the discovery channels :( that's all I watch,

Dropping the movies would save us £8.50, the charge 25p just to connect on the phone to a local number:eek:,

I'm going back to Virgin, free Tivo box with the basic TV pack and its still cheaper than i am paying BT for just phone and broadband.

I complained to Virgin that their recent e-mail saying that I requested 50 MB internet was incorrect as I was quiet happy with 30MB the wording in the e-mail was incorrect,

They agreed & apologised giving me £5 a month reduction & sent me a Tivo box + Phone weekend calls free + Internet 50 MB with a new 12 month contract for £35 a month for the next 18 months at the reduced price :)

It pays to complain but I will re-evaluate the situation when the 12 month contract expires & probably just keep the phone & Internet as FreeSat & FreeView + Feeds gives me all the viewing I need :D

@martin-f , why don't you get a foreign sub for Discovery / History ... pay maybe less than £10 a month ... and keep Freesat as well .

Sky charge us £8.50 for movies so kids and discovery channels we have wont be much more, i will be getting a foreign sports sub in the coming months, I will just continue to pay sky there money, but thanks for the suggestion :).

TBH Martin you can get most if not all Disco/NatGeo stuff on Kodi using the Genesis plugin (even has on demand listings that mirror Sly movies so if Ghost is half way thru on Sly movies oldies it'll start it from the begining)
I'm ready to give VM (and tv licensing) the boot and get by with just Kodi/Plex and ondemand content but I'm having a hard time convincing her in doors its a good idea ditching Tivo haha

what package are you thinking of? As I am thinking of telling Sky where to stick it's price hike. 99% of what I wath is on freesat. And as I have 2 properties I have to pay the tv license twice!!

I wont be getting rid of sky that's the wife's I was just trying to save a few pounds using them, but it will be the best football package Bein sports are the one at 4.8 E Chris

Have telephoned Sky and given my 31 days notice. :-) just put my Vu Duo in as a freesat box, and wow what a sound and picture upgrade. :-)
