I could see the curvature effect on the axis from just west of north to just east of south and made allowance for that. But I could so no difference at 90 degrees to that, which is what I based my point on. I don't expect absolute accuracy in these drawings but the difference seemed just a bit too much to my eye.

Paul I've run another one for comparison. Centred on Birmingham (52.5º, -1.9º). No extra settings added to skew the beam etc. just so you can see exactly where the degree lines fall. Lines at 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 degrees off axis.

E28A is rubbish signal here. Much weaker than 2E/2F UK spot beam. But the 2/3 FEC compensates.
Down my neck off the woods, E28a seems a tad stronger than 2e and 2f

It was more of an observation than a criticism. Thanks for running it again though.

that can't be entirely correct, as I am watching almost all of it, without interruptions right on that blue line ;)

its a good render of the situation, one of the best I've seen, but I think the blue line ( the second null ) should be 100Km further East, right over the Algarve, and Lisbon.

that's the one I'm not getting: 11023 H
my sathunter is able to get dvbS2 but not the 8psk modulation so tuning for that TP has been on standby

The tp 11022 is very powerful and very well tuned Madrid (also smoothly last week with rain you mention), very tolerant of moderate to heavy rain, which does not happen with other tp's and smaller antennas.

To the north of the community, sometimes it rains a lot stronger and I lose.

Can I ask, was it a myth that the Pace ds430n was good for fringe reception?

Best receivers for Fringe Reception

I have been using a MTI 0.3 Blue line on the 90cm dish & a 0.2 MTI High line on the 100cm Gibi for the last 6 months they worked ok with the TM5402HD M1 & TM5302HD but this Lnb/Receiver combination did give rise to some weaker signals on 26 east,4 west & 7.3 west,

So now that the winds have dropped I went back to the Inverto 0.2 Black Ultra's & the receivers that came out on top were the TM6902HD & Spiderbox HD9000 better reception of weak signals with the top 5 receivers in my list below

1/TM6902 HD T2
2/TM6900 HD Super+
3/Spiderbox HD9000
4/TM5502 HD
5/TM5302 HD
6/TM5402 HD M1
7/TM5402 HD M2
8/DrHD F15
9/TM5402 HD M3
10/TM F-3/5 HD

try BCM7362 based E2 receivers like Vu Zero, Formuler F3, Atemio 6200 HD, etc or BCM7356 Vu Solo2, Gigablue Quad, etc see that they will outperform at least 3/4 If not all from list above In terms of tuner reception

I hope not,.
I think the tuner in the 2600 was much better than the tuners in the 430...
2600 used to like 2a and 2b north beams much better than the 430s did - (well in my area anyway)

I think the 2600C1 tuner was better too. I have both, and although they looked identical, it was never as good for fringe use. Still use the DS430N in the UK on my Slingbox as it's a good reliable box.

It is completely true. The 2600 would lock on weaker signals. It also didn't suffer so much from sound break up on marginal signals, as the 430n did, and subsequent Sky boxes still do. These days, the current Freesat Humax boxes perform extremely well in fringe areas and have a number of advantages over Sky receivers, such as multi sat and DiSEqC support.

Having had both ds430 and c2600 here in Valencia I have to say the 2600 way outperforms the DS430. The 2600 is much better at selectivity and about the same for sensitivity but here the selectivity is way more important if you want to avoid having to use an attenuator for some channels. I still run two 2600s and have to say they have been the most easy and reliable receivers I have ever used - I have to admit not up to some modern boxes for perfomance admittedly but still pretty damm good and despite their old age no power supply failures or other little nasties which I have had from some much more modern boxes. They remain my trusted backups and seem to cope with anything. Already now well into their second decade I hope they will go on for a bit yet.

Thanks for the replies re ds430n. Looks like it might not be the most sensitive, but I will still keep it for nostalgia.
