Several small Dishes.

Protected species nowadays.

Sadly I've seen far more recently dead ones than live ones. Their habit of freezing when alarmed does not serve them well if they are crossing a vehicle track at the time!

I will admit I " borrowed " this pic from Nat Geo website, they are very quick and hard to photo!

I think the demise of the slow worm and grass snake is terrible, spent years trying to give them a good home in Hampshire, when I lived there.

We have Adders throughout the Moors here, but the only live ones I've seen were at Dudley Zoo when I were a nipper.

SWMBO and I keep our eyes peeled, but to no avail.

Take a trip to the " New Forest " , Hampshire. Still plenty living there!
It is said, if you walk quietly in the forest, you will hear " 2 and 2 is 4 " that would be the Adders!

It looks like the squirrel has found a new home and friend, he made about 4 visits yesterday, he's been busy burying nuts/seeds in the border this morning.

Great stuff William, the one that's just started visiting me, is very timid as soon as I go in the garden he's gone,

I've moved a couple of bird boxes to better position for next year, + a few more pictures one is my resident hedge sparrow:)

I seem to remember, when I lived in the cold and wet land, some of the coot´s had red " noses ", would that be the female?

Don´t know much about water fowl

Thanks, many of these in one particular spot just down the road from me. Never seen them any other place.

Here's one more, same place, water reflections from sun\ grass \ trees (no photoshop! :O)
