Hi there!

I was thinking to buy this wetek box - h**p://www.wetek.com
Any of you guys ever heard about it?

I read some info and there are many people who are delighted with the device.

Thanks in advance

Seems to be a versatile box with optional satellite and terrestrial tuners for about 10 euros each and you can plug in 2 at a time. It takes a hard disc too. I saw a video of it running 5.0.2 Lollipop (Unofficial Cyanogen MOD) and there are Linux images for it too. Wetek are a sponsor of Kodi.

I cannot find any reviews of its blind scan capability except that it does one.

Processor seems reasonably powerful in this price bracket.

There is a dedicated support forum.

If you do buy it please post a review.

hi AndyX

Thanks for the reply

I'm really thinking of buying it

If i don't like it, they have a refund in 15 days.
Not bad at all

I'm following their forum and they have many ways to use the box.

android, openElec, even ubunto (it's experimental).

Going to think through this weekend

I'm also thinking about getting this box. I have a mini-x at the moment which is really good and does 4K, the Wetek does not though.

Blind scan is more important to me than 4k CB, is the mini-x just a streamer please ?,

Another alternative just coming available is the Amiko A3 Combo sat and cable
The A3 it replaces has blind scan. Not sure if this one will have one from the brief description. It is H265. If it does have H265 and blind scan it could be an interesting box.

Thanks CB, I think I will go with the hybrid android with the dual sat tuner and see how it performs.

Rather than running typical Linux applications, Android uses the Dalvik virtual machine to essentially run applications written in Java.:)
