On a different tack, I drove the 100 miles to Belfast last night to see Blues Pills..... in a tiny venue, the Limelight 2. They are superb and I would urge anyone who loves music to check them out. This band has a future.

On a slightly different tack again, is anyone watching the Proms at all?
I'm definitely a popular classics type of person (rock is my thing in case you hadn't guessed) but last night's performance of The Planets Suite by Holst was superb. I've been fortunate enough to listen to a live orchestra (the RLPO) performing Mars. It was just spine meltingly good.
I have sudden craving to find Joybringer by Manfred Mann on You Tube for some reason...

The Planets is one of my all time favourites and, predictably, Jupiter is my favourite tune from it. Very stirring.
