thanks for that Info
are you using Inverto BU only or modified with Channel Master feedhorn
would you post a pic or two from your channel master 1.8 polar mount
regards

Hi - samoloko -
The one i,m currently using is a standard (unmodified) twin Inverto BU .. i,v used a C120 modifed one in the past
and it worked well in general, until it went weak on both polarities ..... but i,v stopped using the Channel Master feed on the 1.8 recently as i,v noted certain missing frequencies when using it, regardless of the brand of l.n.b. being used ? ... a puzzle i,v not had time to get to the bottom of yet :(

The polar mount on the 1.8 c.m. is an original one and is the same age as the dish around 25 years ..
i have made a few slight alterations to it over the years .... moved the jack fixing point off centre to get a wider and more stable sweep of the arc ... also added a bar and counterweight and second jack for incline adjustment ...
and more recently an adjustable pressure support for the l.n.b bottom arm, to correct a slight warping of the dish ...
i will post links to some pics - on here later, or take some new ones if i cant find them all here on the forum.
Regards ... :)

I´ve found that the IBU singles miss some frequencies, did post it on installing dishes in Spain thread, I think!
Will have a look to see if I can find it later, but I have noticed it in the past.
I found a reference to it here, although I´m sure it was posted elsewhere at the time

Advice Needed - Problems with new motorised set-up

I remember I tried 3 IBU singles, all missing the same frequencies, which the GI twin didn´t. CBS Action was one of the ones they couldn´t see at all.

It'll always be a case of testing stuff and see what works best.

The single hgln IBU is very good here and 'likes' low levels. Seen no problems with frequencies missing etc. The IBU twin was as good as the single ...for the few days it worked properly :O)

Yes .. indeed ..
an l.n.b. that is very good overall on one brand or size of dish, can be quite average on another
as is the case on my two Channel Masters.

Advice Needed - Unwarping a dish
and some pics below showing the rest of the polar mount arrangement -- which is looking rather neglected these days .. (all working ok though) ...maybe i will get time to repaint and replace the rather worn jack this spring - :)1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg 4.jpg

I suppose the weight of the twin k/u - l.n.b. and the extra 2 C band band l.n.b,s and feeds .. plus the supporting brackets - has taken its toll over the years, and has slowly created the slight warp 3.0 to 4.0mm ... not really noticeable on good signal strengths, but on very weak fringe k/u signals can make a full 1.0 db of difference

Just an update, the hgln single does an excellent job on 9e, got the needed improved quality level, better than any other lnb tried.

The twin is on astra 19, also improved levels, not that I needed it as astra 19 very strong here, but shows it's a good lnb, and with those strong sat signals there's no trace of the loss of V's experienced with low level 28.2 uk.
