Did the dish movement increase/decrease the cable length? Or was it simply looped to take up any excess?

Having said that, regardless of the source of the problem it's good that it seems to have been fixed.

the dish is in a totally different place with new cable, overall length I would say is around the same as the old dish and cable

right an update. Had another installer around yesterday, SkyQ expert, anyway exactly the same scenario! BUT we have a work around, moved the dish, its been moved about 15m to the other end of the house and everything now works! Still don't know what was causing the issue, but my money is on trees. Very Weird, and it was the V polarisation that was failing.

Doesn't sound like a workaround to me, based on the opening post.
'SkyQ expert ' :-doh

I suppose, theoretically, these two feeds could loop round the establishment and multiple Q devices could simply tap into the two cables in the same manner as original Ethernet over co-ax.

Lawd help me for suggesting that...

With an attenuation slope between the low and high frequencies on standard cable (in the realm of 12dB for 40m) before taking into account the splitters and socketry/flyleads, 'theoretically' is probably the best place for your suggestion.

I work in IT so I would class that as a "work around", as it hasn't "fixed" the problem its just got around it! anyway all working now, but would be nice to know why it wasn't when the dish was 15m away!

You could always take an image of the new position of the dish (looking towards the 'trees'), and an earlier position of the dish . Everybody here could then compare the two and form opinions.

Besides your opening post did state

I can't fault the Sky installer AT ALL he was really good and spent about 3 hours trying to get it to work!

Not forgetting both installers are from the same company, with the same equipment and the same ideals.

I could spend 3 hours doing heart surgery. There's no guarantee that the patient will ever wake up again...

I am sure he was polite etc. but 95% simply don't have the proper training to think 'outside the box'. A bit like off-shore call centres.
