ok, so i bought a sab titan 3 hd combo, sat receiver but the guy i bought it off has a password on the ip server setting so i can't gain access to it to change the ip address i want it to connect to. Is there anyway to undo this. If i flashed it with a new firmware would this work?

Admin edit....recommend you just try posting not linking to other sites

The only person who could accurately answer your question is the muppet that flashed and setup the server and client stb to work together initially, there are too many ways for an stb to be castrated and nobody can guess which or which combination have been used. My recommendation would be suck it and see, flash the thing and take it from there.

Thanks Topper, had a feeling it was going to be like that, was hoping it would be a simply solution but i guess it never is.

Have you tried to do a factory reset that usually removes passwords on most receivers?

Failing that you could try reflashing the firmware as you dont really have anything to lose. Having no experience with your receiver as topper says its all guess work.

This may help you.

Hi Manicscrewdriver, yeah I tried the factory reset but it did nothing except wipe everything but the passwords and thanks for the link I've had a look over it there too. Nothing on there about removing the password. I'm waiting for a reply from the manufacturers to see if they can help

Flash it with new firmware and it will give you an "out of the box" receiver

Excellent thats what I was hoping it would do. I'll flash it later with the new firmware and let you know the outcome.

Yeah i tried these and nothing, i flashed it with stock firmware from the manufacturer and it removed the ip server setting menu so i flashed it again with one i got from another site and it brought the ip server setting menu back but again it had a password on the ip server setting menu, i'm at a loss now not sure how to get around it

It must be a default, or even a parental, password.
Did you try other, obvious, combinations, 1 1 1 1, 9 9 9 9, etc, or check the site, from where you downloaded the patched firmware?

You can login to STB via Web Interface just type in your box IP Address and it should let you access your servers and other
settings. Hope this helps
