Some of you will know I had a harman Kardon AVR 171 and to be honest it was shit, especially with my monitor silver 2, left and right channels.

So I was browsing the Sevenoaks website, and came across the denon AVR X2200W.

Only had it less then 24 hours, but so far I love it!

And it's a genuine 100 watts per channel.

I can highly recommend it. And it was only £329.

Denon have always made quality kits. I did have one (can't recall the model now) but I somehow preferred the sound of my ageing Marantz SR4200.

Quality like the $500 ethernet cable :)

To be honest, my ears are pretty shot to be able to hear anything, let alone tell the difference between 'quality' and 'non-quality' units. I can't actually hear any sounds below 40dB on lower frequencies and below 60dB on higher frequencies.

Enjoy the new toy.
It has 7 HDMI inputs which is great but the power output is too much for my ears.
I would be happy to have a good quality AV with only 5W outputs but at least 6 HDMI inputs..

It's a small price to pay, to get my monitor silver 2's working again.

Plus it's also atmos, and with a small tweek To my 7.0 speakers I was able to set it up.

And now my marantz ud7007 now plays the sacd layers on the surround sound :-)

Pink floyd takes on a whole new dimension, when playing the sacd multi channel.

I am still toying with the idea of getting 2 subwoofers.

What is the actual standby power consumption of the new AV?
It can be quite excessive if you are not careful.

I hope I am not going to spoil your joy, but on the Amazon US website the title reads
Denon AVR-X2200W 7.2 Channel Full 4K Ultra HD A/V Receiver with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (Discontinued by Manufacturer)
Not sure what does this mean.

Glasgow,ish!
I've noticed that these new 4K LCDs have some hungry power consumption by today's standards anyhow. A lot are only A or B rated and these are big brand makes like LG & Samdung. My 50 inch cheapo full HD T.V. is A++ rated, only 49W consumption, well happy with that power factor.
