Please could anybody with the software that shows the spectrum analysis with SNR figures take a look at 11509H compared with 12648V?

Something weird definitely going on with how my TBS6905 reports the signal quality. It reports 12648V fine with a constant 90-100% (it's 90% at the moment due to rain, up to 100% when it's clear), but 11509H is all over the place with anything from 30% up to 70% as if it's reporting the level as though the PLS code hasn't been applied. This must be wrong as the parameters are the same as 12648V which is fine on my 80cm but broke up even in clear weather on a 60cm. 11509 is behaving exactly the same (no break-up in rain on the 80cm).

Screenshots from M6 (11509H) and D8 (12648V) -

Yes for me 11509 is twice lower than 12648V(15db) but still lockable and it seems stable.
I think there are two reasons:
1 Uplink problem since this tp is 2 days old only.
2 We need other pls code...

P.S. i would like to ask what is number limits for searching pls codes?

Well, I just realized one thing, this code should be the correct code, because it's the date in french when the TNT has switched to MPEG4 (dd/mm/yy) 50416 (the fifth of april 2016)

Ahh of course! Never thought of that [emoji1]

The actual "real" SNR must be quite high though otherwise I wouldn't be able to lock the channels as well as I can do. They seem just as reliable as the 12648V ones to me.

Symbol rate for 11509H has changed to 29500 (same as 12648V)!

Was just getting no signal with the original settings, and just thought I'd try 29500 and hey presto! Quality is now constant at 95% as well so this seems to have sorted that out.

This is the best news that happened for a long time. I can't even wait to return from my vacation and see all French DTT available! Someone please also inform Flysat!

Can anyone confirm a significant signal drop on 11509H from last night? Currently the signal flanctuates between 8 and 9 db constantly whereas it was stable yesterday at about 15+db, just like 12648V! Channels come through stable though, no freezing, which is strange, since 12648 would require at least 11db for stable picture!

Yeah my signal level was fluctuating again from last night onwards, they must have messed with something again!

As you say, it must be at least 11dB for proper locking (which I have too - no freezing or break-up), so there must be something strange with the signal to make the receiver confused as to the 'real' signal level... Very strange!

Yes... it was turned off for some time yesterday and when it is back it has something wrong with signal again.. but it was completely ok before with 29500 sr.

Thank God for German TV!
A lot of great channels FTA, easy to get with small dishes and without Multistream and such things which makes everything more complicated for the viewer.
This far many French channels are FTA but in the future one can suspect at least some of them will be encrypted (?).
And then there is British TV of course! FTA but with the need of much bigger dishes outside the UK.

Thank you! :D

This locks fine for me in TVHeadend.

For some reason the SNR on my TBS6905 in TVHeadend fluctuates rapidly from 40%-70% whereas on 12648V it's constant at 100%! The "real" SNR must be similar to 12648V though as that breaks up if it's below 80% and that is DVB-S2 8PSK FEC: 8/9 the same.

12648V is on the Super beam whereas 11509H is on the Wide beam. Don't know if this would make such difference?

For the fringes, no, plus it's not confirmed that 11509H is on the widebeam or that it didn't move, but it doesn't matter for most of Europe anyway, yesterday 11509H was equal to 12648V, we'll have to wait and see.

This was always the plan unfortunately!

Basically they leave a few Mbps spare so a local channel (in HD) or second regional version of France 3 (HD) can be added at each transmitter site for TNT.

Wow! There are some more changes. Fransat UltraHD test tp moved 12731V30000, beIN SPORTS 3 HD is on at 12563V, 11552V switched to 8PSK and FRANSAT INFO HD is on.

11509H is back to full force right now so it is time to start planning of downgrading my dish to something like 0.8-0.9m or so.:)
