Yes blademedia , now I understand .
For a non englischman like me , your lines are hard to read by the lack of comma's .
But I cut the lines and in that way is more clear to me .

the gearbox is 80/1 ratio for every 80 turns on the input shaft , the output shaft turns once the travel time , to do full arc is a estimated 6 minuets
try to move a standard actuator in one direction for 6 minuets , you cant because stops don't allow it to , so I have two options , one is to modify existing stops ,
this would involve finding cogs etc ect ect , other option is what I am going to , do hope understand now

I've stored a few (3) very heavy worm gearboxes with a 65:1 ratio , posted it some time ago .
A 36 V actuator motor for those gears would not powerful enough , probably I will use a 240 AC reductormotor .
the actuator motor is a beast output shaft was 50mm will be no issues moving this dish, sorry my English is not good I Italian

blademedia,

I think your chain drive mount is going to be very good once it is completed. I hope it is up to your expectations when it is finished, will you be mounting your 2.4 metre channel master on it or have you plans for a bigger dish? I enjoy reading your project topics they show what can be achieved by knowledge and dedication.

Made enquiry about this motor, I will need one for another mount I make for 1.8 dish
cxcxxxzzz.PNG

(That motor looks to be a Thompson Saginaw brand with a Hall Effect Sensor. We now carry Venture Motors and not Thompson Saginaw.
The Venture Motor that replaced that particular motor is M63422BS Venture Motor. Your cost is $145.00 plus UPS Shipping)

Can expect similar price for shipping, pleased with this price was expecting to pay more

Managed to do this in three parts used hammer to remove twist, makes it look better, 3 bits to cut and weld hole to drill lugs for chain tensioner, then onto next part
