CCTV China eventually showed some fireworks at the end of the programme.

They also showed some scenes from around China.

Vietnam had probably the cheapest NYE display, hoisting the flag and playing the national anthem.

They did it well. Maybe some fireworks next year?

VTV4 had that. I was disappointed too. There is earlier screenshots in this thread from VTV1 and there was the traditional concert(+ fireworks ? ) ... wonder why they did not broadcast it on VTV4

I would like to think it is because VTV4 soon drops to potato resolution bitrates but it hasn't stopped them before.

Possibly because VTV1 is the main channel and VTV4 is not so important. But maybe they forgot about showing it overseas.
