A small budget but flashy display from Abu Dhabi. Some countries could learn from that.

Lost and found sketches by Peter Cook & Dudley Moore are being shown on Channel 4 now. There will be a few repeats on 4seven over the next few days.

Switched to Iraq. Al-Sharqiya(pronounce Al as Ash due to Sh being a Sun letter) has live coverage from various cities, currently from Baghdad where there already is some sporadic fireworks.

So next up is a choice of Belarus, Russia or Turkey.

Belarus24 was pretty naff last year as they went with an animation and new year message. Rossiya24 & 1TV had a presidential message from Putin followed by fireworks and a gala. Turkey have fireworks from the Bosphorus in Istanbul but I don't think any of the TRT channels carry it, CNN Turk and a few other commercial news channel do.

Rudaw was showing footage earlier (at 17:30) of security preparations for NYE in some places but I doubt they will show more than this.

They are now 1080p but it doesn't say HD like it used to when it was SD and not HD . . . :rolleyes:

Places there top to down: Sydney, New York. Right: Istanbul, Paris. I don't speak Kurdish but deciphered that from letters that they have in common with Arabic.
