Not sure how true this actually is, but seeing that many other laws have been passed on quiet days, with even quieter press releases I wouldn't put it past them.

Apparently 60 will become 50, everywhere, with statistical proof on the resultant accident/injury reduction.

There has been talk of a similar proposal here.

I think people who do under 50mph on a wide open road are as much a cause of problems as those who do a few mph over the limit. Same goes for the people who do 35 on minor roads where you could comfortably do 50.

I've seen it so many times where a driver holds up a long line of traffic. Inevitably, people get impatient and end up overtaking when they really shouldn't.

This is made worse by the car that sits immediately behind the slow moving car, but refuses to overtake, and doesn't leave enough room for someone to pull in between both cars, forcing the overtaker to pass two cars in one go.'O'-red

I say everyone should be made to drive 2CVs, that way there'd be no speeding, they'd never break the motorway speed limit, and there'd be little chance of "young people" causing accidents as they'd be too embarrassed to even look at one, let alone drive one... :-rofl2

Or, take all those cars with the fartcan exhausts, and crush them in full public view, seeing how they are nothing but trouble on 4 wheels (and the reason why I cannot drive cos insurance for someone my age is chuffin' stupidly high!!!)...

I ordered some small parts for the Citroen last week and was shocked at the price some people are willing to pay for what is effectively a bit of chrome tubing (often double for the fibreglass posing as kevlar), that automatically identifies the owner/driver as a total tool.

It has long been a mystery to me why some people will spend so much time and money reducing the value of their car.

And everyone would have to work within 10 miles of home?

Funny thing is that most of these parts are paid for through the bank of mummy and daddy... :-rofl2
