Hi all,

I see on BBC's website that they have 2-3 'interactive' channels for the Olympics. I've done a search of the forum before posting and couldn't find anything, so excuse me if it's already been covered (and if it is, for some bizarre reason, considered a naughty topic).

Many moons ago when I had one of the early DVB-T Freeview boxes, channels like BBC with their 'red button' services would actually map to 'high number' channels, enabling those without a Sky box to obtain the same services. Now that I have a Dreambox 7025 DVB-S running LT5 I've done a re-scan and had a look through all my 28.2E channels and can't seem to find these parallel channels. The most I can seem to find are "T7 STRM-0" and "T7 STRM-1", which look like menus for the interactive system (3x2 mini-screens).

Does anyone know the details of these interactive channels, please? Will they already be in my list of channels from 28.2E, or will I have to enter the details manually. And if so, what are the details?

Cheers,
Matt

They are flagged as data channels. You will need to use dreamboxedit to modify the channel list and change their transmission type from data to TV. Then they will appear in your channel list.

The channels you want are named as Stream1 - 6

Hi,

Does anyone know how to setup these STREAM1-6 channels as subservices of BBC channels. E.g. so I can press the green button and view them that way. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Stvy

No way to get these channels with a single button push.

You MUST edit your channel list with dreamboxedit or openDBedit as described above to receive these channel on a Dreambox. There is the same problem with the Sky interactive channles on 10935v.

You should find a copy of dreamboxedit somewhere here on this site with a search. Try to find openDBedit if you can as it is an updated version of dreamboxedit .

The channel list is your own, just FTP it from your box into dreamboxedit.

You can get dreamboxedit from here:

_http://dreambox.happyllama.com/

connect the DB to your router if its not already set up to do so

run DBE & set up the communications to your DB.

import the channel list off the box,

Filter the channels so you are seeing the data channels on 28E (its obvious what you have to do)

find the Stream 0-6 channels in the list

right click on them and change them to tv services

save the changes

send the channel list back to the DB

use the reset then restart commands

the channels will now be in the main tv list for that satellite :)

I realise that this an old thread but can I use DCC with my DB500S to edit the streams to .tv so that I can see them on my channels list? I don't seem to be able the find a channels list file on my DB using DCC. Could you please tell me the path to this file. Thanks.

BTW I am running Gemini and CCcam 2.0.10

ON THE DREAMBOX: is there a way of pushing the RED BUTTON and being able to download/watch the 'unmissable' programs from the previous week???
it's now available on freeview boxes!!!!

that would be a realy great option to have

You can see all the red button channels on a dreambox but there is no single button solution. Read the earlier posts to find out how to access the red button channels on your box.

I assume all the freeview red button channels are also on satellite, but let us know if you find any that aren't.

No, I got all the red button sub screens.
what I would love to get is the posibility of using the iplayer option on my dreamboxes.

The iPlayer options are a bit like the capability to rewind live TV on Sky+(and HD) boxes. You end up recording hours and hours of programming you have not the least interest in, but it hammers your hard disk. You are much better off setting up your own recordings, rather than watch the recordings that somebode at the BBC or Sky thought you should watch. As a matter of interest: you can "rewind live TV" on your dreambox if you enable the plugin and set the time limit on how much you want to be able to rewind. However, the only dreambox this has been 100% reliable on during testing has been the DM500HD; I am sure the DM8000 will also work well as it has the quicker CPU as well.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread.

I've changed all the data channels to TV as instructed, and they all work fine.

Next question is, on sly news channel, i'm after the active weather screen. I can get it up as part of a quad screen, but does anybody know how to get the weather screen on its own instead, or anyone know which channel number I need to select for this weather screen.

Hope this makes sense to somebody

Thanks in advance.

I dont think you can - I never found it on my 7020

Put the BBCi channels into a bouquet - on my 7020 they had a nasty habit of changing back to data services and disappearing off the main satellite channel list!
