Does anyone have one of the original Amstrad white sky dishes from 1989/90 with matching white Marconi blue cap LNB that they’d like to part with?

Good luck with your quest! But I'd advise changing the LNB if you intend to use the dish for Astra 1 or 2. Those blue cap LNB's were not that great if I recall rightly and I'd be very surprised if any of those were in use today. You couldn't use them on weak satellites.

Thanks Tony, yes the Marconi blue caps were rubbish!
I'm not after one to use, I am just getting a collection together of UK satellite TV equipment available at the start of Sky and BSB.
I have most of the BSB equipment and an original Amstrad SRX200 with Thomson Videocrypt decoder.
I'd just like an Amstrad white dish to complete it.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

I still use one, on the roof.

Though it's not white, more zinc and oxide of iron.

It does come with the official offset bracketry though, for another satellite some 6 degrees away.

Are you into restoring ?

I understand it would be very rare to find a new one these days, although I have seen a boxed one that sold on the internet a few years ago.
My plan would be to strip it down, blast and re paint all of the individual parts if needed.
Are you interested in selling?
How bad is it?

I would need to replace it since it is currently working fixed signals from 13 and 5 East for the other family members.

I probably have a complete back mount and feed arm (similar condition) for the 80 mesh version you could also have.

What sort of time scale is this project ?

There's no rush to this, I'm just getting bits as and when I can.
How much would you want for it?
Thanks
Chris

I had a blue cap lnb a long time ago - it went to a bloke who said he wanted it for a good use - when I asked him if it was for a pirate radio link feed he bashfully admitted it was

I do have this in the shed somewhere - its probably rather grubby now as it lived in the coal shed at the old pad.

The lnb is dreadful, although I have had a few signals off it when Ive wanted to play with something a bit different on occasions :D

No satellite stuff for the moment (aside from a 43cm minidish that was on the house already), Samsung SyncMaster T27B550 Smart TV & Monitor, and a few computers...

Reminds me of when I wanted to save the Amstrad Fidelity dish I played with back in Lancashire that was on the house at the time, had to move out as it was sold, and the new owner kindly took it down for me, and completely wrecked the thing in the process, granted it was probably rusted to heck, but still, it didn't deserve to be trashed the way they did so... <_<
