Astra 1H is heading towards 52.3 East, should be there next week.
So 1H will co-locate with Astra 1D, that arrived at 52.15 East about a week ago.

What is it with the area between 44E & 60E - its getting very crowded indeed now!

This position 52.3° East didn't last long, with no apparent activity.

Astra 1H is moving West with 0.65° a day, now near 51° East, and according center-of-box will continue beyond 43° East.
No destination given yet.

During the last days, the center-of-box table did not renew beyond 43.3 East on 27 November.
So 43.3 East might be the destination.

No future locations any more in the table and no new destination.
Astra 1H continues moving West with 0.6° a day, and is now near 42° East...

My bet is on 31.5 east due to the delayed launch of Astra 5B til 1st qtr 2014.

Yes I read that, but 1H already has 1.2° inclination, to get rid of that must cost lots of fuel!
If 1G (being 1.5 years older than 1H) has no fuel left, maybe it's an option, who knows. The frequency plans are the same at least.

Um, maybe not as it appears to have gone past that point at least according to the tracking sites

The equivalent of a 2 or 3 months of fuel to remove the inclination.

That's much less than I thought! Do you think with twice as much inclination, would also mean twice as much fuel required?
And do you recall any example of an inclined satellite that actually removed the inclination?

Astra 1H still moving West with 0.6° a day. If heading for 28.2°, would be there on 23 December.

Quite possibly would need additional fuel as the inclination increased.

Can't recall an inclined satellite having the inclination removed.

Let's see if it stops at 28.2 or carries on. Not sure what benefit 1H would be at 28.2E except as a backup as it does also seem to be inclined.

To update the thread above, Astra 1H ended up being positioned at 19.6° East in January, so a standby position.
Inclination until a few days ago was about 1.5°.

Today's TLE (#517) suddenly shows a reduced inclination of 1.15°. This might mean it will be back in service soon.
But this may also be a wrong TLE, that happens now and then. We'll see!

1E, 1F and 1G are older and still in use. Especially the 1G is in full service.

Astra 1H left the position 19.6° East already, now moving West with 1° per day.
