Astra 1M on air. Any distant reports?

10,744 is not on 1M, according to Flysat. It is on Astra 1KR

As I checked, Bombedone couldn't receive signal of Astra 1KR.
It could be test signal of Astra 1M.

But no info about 12640 and 12692 anywhere....

Why I can pick up them? 1H signal is stronger than one from 1KR (which has larger coverage area according to maps?)

Don't believe any maps. They're just theory. I could tell you weird stories about Astra 1A-E in Greece since the beginning of the 90s. A larger coverage area does not mean that the in fringe or out of footprint areas the reception is more likely. Also some areas further away from the beam edge had better coverage then those closer. Sometimes there was also a big difference in polarisation. Today more and more the effect of very sharp beam edges plays a role. I 'm not able to explain more detailed why you get these 2 off 1H and no 1KR so believe only what you see.

I have received signal from 1H for over 6 months now in cyprus with 80cm but nothing from 1KR.Very Strange

These are results after diseqc and long cable. When connected directly to LNB, more frequencies can be locked, and also strength of existing ones increases by 5-6%

I wonder if this is true or again a mistake of http://www.n2yo.com/?s=25071 . 2 weeks ago they placed Astra 1F at 33E which was definitely wrong.

Both lyngsat/flysat show 12552V beeing on Astra 1G so either this frequency has moved and 1G has left for 23.5E or not.

Initially SES Astra had announced 1H would move then they changed it to 1G.

Yesterday we had heavy rain and heavy clouds - good test for astra.

All european transponders gone on 1.5m dish, except 12304.

Seems like that this decrease in strength not only due to weather. Yesterday we had absolutely clear sky, but all european TP gone again, except 12304.

Impressive how bad the 1H focus is but i have one question:

Are these values constantly on this level or changing depending on the time and weather ?
Or to make it more simple: Is this the best or worst case or have you just checked it once and these values were received ?

Of course it does. Thanks for the report. I wonder which size these days one needs for permanent reception of all 1H/KR/L/M frequencies in Eastern Cyprus. Before the 1KR launch 1G/H were ok on even 1.80m Offset dishes at least in Western Cyprus. But i fear things have gone worse because of the very sharp beam edge of all the new satellites.

For 1KR and 1L an installer told me 1.4m or 1.6m to be sure.
Im thinking of upgrading to a gibertini 1.2m in the next few months.Maybe this would be enough.I do get a 19% signal from 11597v 19E
