The 11.165H SR 1000 Signal is now a bit weaker than it has been before and is about as strong as 11.127V, so I think it is on the UK beam now.

It's a wild guess, but could that be a test for those mobile internet services or VSAT or something like that ? I mean it is offering 1.5Mbit/s netto and you can place some of them on a transponder... of which this bird has 52....

And I think also this is the Pan-European trps.In general, the signal on Astra is strong in the morning and during the day it decreases a lot in the evening, especially on dvbs2 transponders.

Id missed that.
Off topic: It's not under Service Searching, it is under Positioner Setup. That's why you have never seen it. Those signal bars are only available for satellites setup as DiSEqC 1.2.

Do Sky STB's support lower FEC's than 5/6 (7/8 and 9/10?)
I believe the only FECs native to DVB-S are 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6 & 7/8. The others are DVB-S2. Even on Sky HD boxes (in add channels) it is only possible to select parameters that work on an SD receiver, so only the above FECs, and the only available S/Rs 22 & 27.5, and no 8PSK.

Cheers Huevos, was curious to know if some of the DVB-S transponders which move to 1N may adopt 7/8 as a valid FEC (if SD Sky STB's support it).

I understand Astra 1N is going to carry ASTRA2Connect Broadband signals.

Some people also claim frequency reuse for broadband.

But acording to the following ASTRA2Connect will cover UK

_http://www.marinesatellitesystems.com/index.php?page_id=875

Are the claims of frequency reuse causing fring reception problems a load-of-rubbish or have I missed something?

Frequency reuse is for the next lot of satellites, with Middle East and African beams, not 1N. (Unless SES have a surprise in store)
