Astra 5A is the new name for Sirius 2. She carries a pan European beam and a Central European spot beam

Astra 5A suffered a major failure on January 16th 2008 and was immediately declared to be out of service :(

This is the 31.5E info sheet (pdf format) which has since been removed from the SES site, but I always squirrel things like this away - you never know when they will be useful!
