There seem to be a bunch of cables out there these days. RG6, CT100, TV100, WF100 etc. What's actually the one to pick.

I generally stay away from RG6 as I have a pretty long cable run of 40m+ and favour WF100 to CT100 as it's easier to manoeuvre owing to foam dielectric. What about TV100? It seems to be a new(?) kid on the block and its specs seem very similar, if not virtually the same, as WF100. Same losses, shielding etc.

Thoughts?

OpenBox X5 on a 1 meter motorized dish.
And now a 10 foot "C" band dish.

If your using it for a satellite installation then look at the upper frequency response, it should be from 2.5 GHz to 3 GHz, or the signal loss may be too great on the higher transponders.

Some coax is only rated for TV or CATV use,(900 MHz top end) another thing is when used in a long run (30 to 60 meters) the center conductor should be solid copper, this cuts down on the DC voltage drop on the cable, and now days with 5G interference your shielding should be as good as it gets.

I use dual or quad shielded cable with a copper core, makes for a tight install. And be sure to ground the coax.

i m using this one
good quality with 30m
have a look on these choices
11 are more expensive and need special F plug but loss less on big distances .

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Anything with '100' at the end will have simiar characteristics owing to the diameter of the cable.

Unless it is faulty or fake (chewing gum foil outer) you will be constricted by distance, upper frequency expectations, minimum radius (notches) digression and proximity to annoying interference.

(Oh, and decent connectors on each end)

Why not look at the larger stuff out there, 125 is your first step, but hopefully not the last. if you want the best out of the run between LNB and receiver.

(You may also look at separating motor drive from the reception bit, it does help).

I am hoping to use 2x shotgun cable runs from the dish to the house. This will run from an active multiswitch at the dish end, so hopefully any potential losses will be compensated for by the switch.

I hate using my phone rather than my laptop for important stuff. It should be 65 of course.
