Euronews broadcast the Rio fireworks live and in entirety. The audio wasn't very good, but this was one long fireworks!

Just watched what I suspect was Brasil welcome in 2014 ...
A most spectacular fireworks display followed by a concert on the beach..
Found with a feed on 55W ...
OB feed link reads GLOBO..
So I assume Brasil.
I did capture the fireworks video on hard drive from the F15.
Too big to upload here ..so will try and grab a few snaps tomorrow..

Good Morning! Got cnn on at the last possible moment, as i accidentally sent the dish to Hispasat... But anyways got to heard the magic " 3 - 2 - 1 - happy new year...".

After all nice fireworks and german concerts NYC looks quite boring... Is it just me or did they fail this year?

Then again... NYC is sort of "The same procedure as every year!" The silly hats etc. CNNI is sticking around apparently for the coverage from New Orleans. Let's see if they also broadcast the Central time zone midnight...

Yep. They did do the central time zone too.

Was gutted however to hear that their correspondent John Zarrella had his last day. They are really jumping the shark if such old-timers are going.

The worst firework I saw on tv was from New Zealand. The best? London, of course.

Russian tv annoys me. I had two of the main channels on at the same time and both showed Putin's address to the nation. The reason he was surrounded by all the people is because he was in the Far East where they had those devastating floods a few months ago. The people were, apparently, the ones affected by the floods... The speech was alright (I prefer his to the Queen's!).

What's annoying is that they never show fireworks and you have to hunt these down. This year Tv Centre (possibly its international cousin TVCI as well) was doing a live coverage of the usual party on the Red Square and did show fireworks. Sadly I missed the beginning.

Happy new year to all! I am glad to see the back of 2013. It was stressful one for me.

I hope you have recovered now!

I still haven't got round to watching the left overs yet, I am about to get some more strong coffee. :)

Just as a follow up over at DS their German based member KarlHyde has posted these viewing figures for DF1

The 17 airings of "Dinner for One", including the German adaptations, had combined ratings of 14.96m viewers in Germany.
The highest figures were:
18:50 WDR 2.38m, 10.6% market share (24.4% in North-Rhine Westphalia)
17:40 NDR 1.76m (18.5% in Northern Germany)
19:40 NDR 1.28m (17.6% in Northern Germany)
23:35 NDR 1.12m (11.5% in Northern Germany)

In Austria, "Dinner for One" had 330,000 viewers and a market share of 18% at 23:25 on ORF1.

These are incredible viewing figures :D

A bit different from here in the UK where the viewing figures will be in the low hundreds :-lmao

Impressive figures.

The same as every year. :D

Plus 18% of the audience share in Austria on ORF1, that's really impressive. Almost one in five viewers.
