Looking forward to joining you all for this again tomorrow. I was away for New Year last year and 2020 was a bit of a write off, so it feels like the first since 2019 for me.

I only have a single motorised dish these days. Usually I stay within 13E/19E but I’m contemplating parking the dish on the Reuters 22W feed this time around if it’s worth doing so, unless they have a live stream of it somewhere.

In that situation Id suggest 22W for the first part of the day the switch to 13E mid afternoon. Although depending what else happens in the Middle East tomorrow Al Jaz Mubasher on 13E can be quite good.

Also, I saw a promo on Ukraine's Pershyi Kanal that they might dip away from their continuous war news from 21 UTC for a concert, their midnight is at 22 UTC, same as here in Estonia.

The Russian forces have been targeting energy (electricity) infrastructure throughout Ukraine. I can't see any celebrations going ahead but please keep us posted.

The weather is dreadful here on the south coast and has forced my hand as to what celebrations I'll be watching because of the poor signal I'm getting west of 19e Astra 1. The dish is poorly aligned and I haven't got round to fixing it.

CNN in their advertisements have said their New Years Eve program starts with Sydney at 13:00 GMT so I'm guessing they won't be showing Auckland at 11:00 GMT

Watching 9 PM Fireworks from Australia right now. Now, I am cheating by watching on ABC's Youtube feed, but since I came to possession of a TV with motion interpolation as a part of a tech upgrade within the family, I may give more webstreams a try. In this case, interpolation was not needed apparently, as ABC is streaming at 1080p60.

Yep, that's the one I was watching. And in high frame rate, might well watch it also for Sydney midnight.

Especially as it looks like news channels may be hit and miss due to the Pope emeritus death...
