Best bet is CNN in my opinion as they showed Seoul earlier and talked about the upcoming display. Last year there was nothing of any real signifance on JSTV, NHK World and Arirang.

On the Japanese weather channel, Weathernews Live, its VTuber character voiced by one of the station's presenters is doing its annual new year countdown. However, looks like JSTV will stay encrypted for the new year again judging by the colour coding at its schedule.

I bought a 7 day internet pass to try to get a glimpse of the New Year this time though(I'd even consider subscribing due to my Japanese language interest but paying out three times the Japanese domestic TV license fee is a bit too expensive for my liking).

Arirang HD has 'Ushering In 2023' on screen so they and CNN may be ok but North Korea might have the better show again this year.

JSTV has been useless over the last few years. A pity.
