I did some research and found the ideal way to close and protect the lnb. The cappuccino cover fits perfectly.
basically no signal loss at least on the ku band LNB

On weak signals after rain that lies in the exposed scales can be a problem for me. I use a cover that covers the whole feedhorn.

Inverting the reflector eliminates moisture entering the scalar internals.

It doesn't need to. However, dirt does not accumulate inside the scalar ring
