DM800 Cccam Port Issue

Correct, you need to run cccam as a client to prevent it from reading the cards, this stops the conflict between newcs and cccam as only one can read the card.

This was not an issue with older versions of CCcam but there is no other way to get the later versions to work together.

I have run CCcam without -s with newcs and had no problem (2.1.2 & 1.67RC1), but i Had no references to the card reader in my CCcam config. Both (CCcam and newcs) worked as server and web interfaces fine. I would suspect that the file might have windows cr/lf in it. Open it with vi and see if it displays ^M at the back of each line. If so remove the ^M by putting the cursor on it and pressing x.

EDIT - Ah cool, found out how to do it. Yes, 2 of the lines had those characters after it. I'll now check see if it works. Do I need to do newcs?

Right, I cleaned up both the cccam & newcs of ^M, but unfortunately it hasn't helped (even after a few reboots etc).

Me again.

I'm afraid I've been through every NEwcs/CCcam combo in the config generator and I still can't get it to work.

So in summary, I can view the channels when I have the "-s" on the CCcam start up script, through Newcs. But as soon as I take the "-s" off (without changing anything else) it doesn't open the channels.

Do you think I need to maybe install my image?

This thread can be closed as we will now move on to CCcam 2.1.3 that doesnot need newcs, unless you want to use an Omnikey reader.

The way things are panning out as you do your testing, it seems now is the time to install Nabilo Blackhole and CCcam 2.1.3. Its always nice to bottom problems when they arrise but I think you're finding issues that would not normally arrise.

My advice, bite the bullet, start from scratch, install NAbilo Blackhole 12. Its by far the best image for the 800 / 8000 and CCcam 2.1.3 will be a doddle to setup.

This is as easy on Gemini if you download through the blue panel. I battle to understand the problem - between the BP downloads and the help on these threads, this IS a doddle.

Great news on the 2.1.3 :-)

Trouble is, I had a panic and tried to reflash my box with the Nablio image, and now it won't boot :-( I think I need to now go the serial cable route with Dreamup. Does this sound correct?

1 or 2 posts aint a problem mate. Make sure you try the web interface method before resorting to the crappy DreamUp method. Its well documented in the stickies entitled Flash Your DM800 The Easy Way. If you have problems find a more suitable thread to ask in and return to this thread with your CCcam issues later.

i am running a dm800 with gemeni 2,
having the same probs with cccam
start it on its own using telnet and i can see web port

will try the -s but this will stop it looking for the card in newcs wont it!

i am in the process of setting up a server and would like to use newcs and cccam
as there are pros and cons with using both (server wise)

ie using newcs reading card and then cccam running so i could share out n lines and c lines if i wanted!
