Hello all,

I'm a Brit just in the process of relocating from Nigeria to Tripoli, Libya.

Will my DSTV work in Libya ok? From the footprint map it looks like the signal is actually stronger...

If that's the case, then yes, it should work. You will also be able to pick up elements of the European satellites from Tripoli, but for some you will need a significant dish.:)

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Been to Tripoli a few years back. Average size for viewing most European satellites was 1.8m.

Hello Desert Dogg does the Multichoice channels need the DStv receiver to view them or you can use the Multichoice card/cam with any receiver?

Had any luck yet?

The multichoice channels are irdeto 2 encrypted which means if you have a Irdeto 2 cam or a box with a slot capable of decrypting irdeto 2 then you just need to get a card

Hello again.

I've currently got the following setup pointed at the Intelsat 7/10 on C band to view DSTV:

2.4m aluminium antenna
Dreamer 900 decoder - no card slot
Tiny little made in China LNBF

I'm getting around 30 free DSTV channels inc. the live cricket (well done lads) and soccer, but the box loses sync 2-3 times an hour and needs a hard reboot each time.

Besides buying a full DSTV subscription with their box and card, is there anything I can do to improve quality and stop the box losing sync?

I've been told to upgrade both the LNB and the Dreamer decoder but haven't had any suggestions what to upgrade to. I'll be visiting the UK next month and will e able to get what I need over there.

Thanks
