OK, long shot but does anyone happen to have an old Echostar LT8700 receiver with MAC and Videocrypt boards in them?

There was one on eBay a few weeks ago but I missed out on it.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Are the boards more important than the receiver ?

Ideal to have both. I would like to do away with a separate Videocrypt (or MAC) decoder and have two in one.

May also be worth looking for an Amstrad SRD600 (the best receiver they ever made reliability wise) with both Eurocrypt (DMAC) and Videocrypt (Sky) card slots and decrypters built in and two separate lnb inputs you could switch between for two satellite use without DiSEQC switch. I used one for many years but don't think it is still in my shed but will check.

I have one. First of all let me see if I can find it!

It's a heavy bugger you realise?

Oooh! Nice. Ever so grateful!

I did have an SRD650 but that was MAC only and had to use an external Videocrypt decoder for Sky.

The only MAC unit I know is in the shed is a Uniden UST92, it might have a partner in a very heavy RSD receiver nearby, though I havent seen it for a very long time.

I think I have one in loft, many years unused. Available if above unit can't be found. But, as above, would have to send out a search party.

Extremely heavy. I'm located just north west of London to collect.

Found it! Or at least the good wife did.

Now the bad news: it is, as can be seen from the labels, the variant with the UHF remote control and I'm damned if I can find the remote. I went straight to where I last remembered putting it (it'd been there for years) and no luck. I've spent about an hour looking for it but it's obviously decided to hide away from me somewhere.

New IR remote controls are still available and I believe that the LT8700 would work with both types. Or maybe you already have a remote by some strange quirk of fate?

Oooh! Excellent :D No remote here but the good bay of E seems to have a few replacement ones.

What would you like for it? I suspect postage might add to the cost too.

I'm not sure. Unsurprisingly, until this morning I hadn't given it any thought and I had some remote plan to use it to power a jack arm. Anyway, enough waffle, how does £20 sound? Do you have way of collecting? It is heavy!

£20 is fine. Wirral is a bit of a trek for me, even though I have in-laws living in Manc (no idea when I'll be going there next).

Hi I am pretty sure I have one of these in the roof, but have doubts with the mac board seem to remember power supply fault got fixed & no mac but the rest worked. Bournemouth bit nearer than the Wirral.

Hi Roy, thanks for the offer but MAC board is important to me. Bournemouth is still a fair trek!

One of the best at the time it was released and mine was pretty good (IIRC).

Any chance you can take a look at the back and let me know what the serial number is? There were a few different versions.
