Thank you, I just need to get it clear in my head then I can start work cutting all the steal to sizelooks really good mate, great job so far
Thanks CJ, ive wasted two weeks trying to locate one, I wish I would have just got on with making one now and I would have it up and running, she will be a heavy beast but better than anything on the market for a 2.4 so she will be on top of the job.Wow! Nice job! You are not one for wasting time, eh?
Thank you Rima, but if that is close like you say it wont go very far round. it has to be there to hit the arc, I fabricate wood nearly every day it is like that for a reason but thanks m8Great modeling out of wood! Before you make it from metal just think about couple of things:
-Dish should be as close as possible to polar mount
- It is better to make center of gravity of dish little bit lower, that should help to move antenna from far-East and far-West position, antenna will work as counterweight. On the picture red lines show position of frame.
TBH Rima I don't think there is much wrong with what I have done ?, and it looks like they will be to much stress here ?.What about this (Picture)? Dish is closer to the mount and center of gravity very low. And dish will go almost H-H.
Nice work rima ,We had very strong winds a few weeks ago and I want to be able to move my dish and lock fringe in them conditions, and I am 99% sure this design will do just that TBC .Here is picture of mine DIY mount for 1,8m metal PFA. Only problem with that, is - I have never had enough time to finish installing it. Mostly INOX.
Thanks CJ, The jack point only one to start with will just be made up last I will just offer it up and weld something to suit same as the elevation just make something up as I go along.Great job! Perhaps you can make a couple and sell at a profit?!
One question - where will the jack arm attach to?
