Hi guys,

Im installing a zone 1 dish to the wall of my house. We have some high trees that could cause a problem.

What I would like to know is how do the pro installers find a decent place to locate the dish? Is their a gadget to use to check line of sight? I don't want to attach a bracket to wall just to find Im too low?

I want to place it as low as I can.

Cheers

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

At school, it used to be known as a protractor, but there are various trademarks for the names nowadays

An inclinometer is what I use, also sometimes the dishpointer Ap available on iPhones and other smartphones. You can make an inclinometer yourself aslo, using a protractor, a small weight and a bit of string.

Also you don't want to cut it too fine, otherwise you'll be up the ladder again moving the dish when the trees have grown.
