thanks my posse, but neither vlc player (my prefered choice), nor windows media player, nor real player do the business.

Its OK alland, I can't get the link for kerrang to work either (I am in Berlin, remember).;)

As I suggested - it might just be a case of EMAP's server having a tighter sphincter than SAGA's (sic).

Did I just say that?

Hi,
RedDevil_UK, thats the same links that i already gave him.

allend66, you can try put an english proxy like someone already said.
Try this one: 213.121.209.14:80 .Go to windows media player -> Options -> Network -> Select MMS (see down) -> Configure -> Select "Use the following proxy server" and put Address: 213.121.209.14 Port: 80 -> OK -> OK

I got a "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because the specified protocol is not supported. If you typed a URL in the Open URL dialog box, try using a different transport protocol (for example, "http:" or "rtsp:")."

for this i got a "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a network error occurred. The server might not be available. Verify that you are connected to the network and that your proxy settings are correct."

i love a good challenge!

If by picking up the gaunlet you mean asking someone in the UK to do, essentially, what I proposed a hundred posts ago - the answer might be that no-one is really that interested (because they can get them) (sic).

There has been welcomed participation from UK members (I thanked a few myself) - but, bear in mind, allan, that not all stream servers are as dumb as Saga's.

I have experienced dead-ends before and just left it at that. Qué Será, Será
as it were.

If someone finds the Kerrang/Emap distribution server links - well, I think we will all be in streaming heaven. Sadly, these links are like gold-dust and generally not in the public domain.

Maybe you should post a more direct Q next time;)

ok, calm down everyone. :)

let's revise: this thread (or that might be 'tread' to you, barmoo) was originally opened to get help ('heap') on listening to SAGA radio online ('on wine'), which, due to some excellent help ('kelp'), savvy ('lavvy') and technical nous ('grouse') from members has now been solved ('soldered').

As a continuation ('insinuation') from that ('fat') I asked for help ('whelp') for KERRANG! ('you rang?'), and again ('more rain') was given ('midden').

However, ('howler') the suggestions were fruitless ('fruitbat') and I ('pie') and others ('sisters') still can't listen to KERRANG! online.

After a lengthy pause ('hairy paws') it looked like ('pike') the thread had died ('fried') of death ('breath').

To animate people into helping me ('bee') I "threw down the gauntlet" ('drew clown-sag ain't it'), but this seems to have ignited a fire ('liar'). The point is, I don't believe that there is no solution to this.

Everyone: please, any other suggestions / hacks / backdoors would be welcomed.

Barmoo: one innocent typo, (the letter o is next to the letter p) and you crucify me! please, give me, allend66, a second chance!
(I wanted to post you a video, but it's 67mb. You remember the Two Ronnies sketch, "fork handles"?)

come on then.... :D

PaulR: you would be wrong to get the hump :D I thank you and anyone else who did the best they could and posted links. I would have done more myself but my location limits my input.

The fact remains that this is all hit and miss; but maybe we get lucky ;)

This thread is getting a tad tedious now. I'll backtrack and state that servers aren't so dumb.

As for Kerrang: there is something hanging off: wm-peer-emap.london.vrnw.net Thats all I know so don't ask. Just like there is something hanging off (and works): http://83.245.15.217/city-70 which is also an EMAP station. The quality is very good.

I guess you could ping that IP and see if its in london or liverpool, lol.

Whatever, found this site. Most links work - and NO, Kerrang isn't there - but they are very interesting all the same. http://archive.mysteryfcm.co.uk/?f=Multimedia/Screamer_Radio/Tools_n_stuff

I just downloaded the presets.xml and squandered the links within ;) I think the .exe is mac based??

Best station and quality found so far: http://213.246.55.137:8000 (its French).

sorry, i haven't checked in for a couple of weeks.

have you ever seen monty python's parrot sketch? THIS is a DEAD .. THREAD!

thank you very much for the prolonged interest, but i've lost interest in kerrang. they had their chance, and they blew it. to be honest i dont listen to kerrang much when i'm in england. Saga was more of a result for me. and i load up on bbc radio on the website's listen again service.

cheers
