i started a satellites.co.uk unofficial (or official ) chat room on efnet

irc://efnet.demon.co.uk/satellites

to install mirc goto http://www.mirc.co.uk/get.html , download the latest version, install, then fill out the options dialog asking for name/email/nick etc. Then either click the irc:// link above or type

/server efnet.demon.co.uk:6667 -j #satellites

but no-one ever visited i had a very lonely bot in that chat place lol
because it wasnt used the bot that was keeping the channel active and in our control buggered off.

i could get another one if people really wanted it, but i cant see it.

We used to have a satellites.co.uk IRC channel, but it was hardly used and on the odd occasion it was, you tended to get bombarded with "where can I get keys for ......" questions. I eventually drifted away from the whole thing in the end, as if you looked at the record of the chat for the evening, pretty much all of it was absolute twaddle, chatting for the sake of it and it had taken up the whole evening, a bit like CB used to be. :-bash

Still got my Cobra 148 GTL DX under my desk... I believe it's even illegal to sell stuff capable of 27MHz now

irc.cyberarmy.net has #dreambox and #satellites - I'm there most of the time so feel free to pop over and say "Hi" ;p

If you're using mIRC I think the correct syntax to connect would be /server -w irc.cyberarmy.net - once connected /join #dreambox and/or #satellites.

For those of you who've used IRC before and have X-Chat, BitchX, IRSSI etc, you'll know what to do and may (should ;p) connect via SSL on port 6697 ;-)

There's no rules, and the channel will always be around - atleast *somebody* will be around most of the time ;}

well we started out own channel after all that, and has been up and running nearly 2 weeks now

2 channels actually one English and a Portuguese one too

covering all the topics of this forum
