On Friday 1 February 2008, Sky Movies HD1/SD1 and HD2/SD2 will be renamed:

Sky Movies SD1 becomes Sky Movies Screen 1
Sky Movies HD1 becomes Sky Movies Screen 1HD
Sky Movies SD2 becomes Sky Movies Screen 2
Sky Movies HD2 becomes Sky Movies Screen 2HD

Programming will be unchanged. The HD channels will be simulcast versions on their SD counterparts.

It looks very much like Golf Channel UK (423) is closing down on Dec 31st. There are no more programme listings after 6am...

I can confirm that The Golf Channel UK will cease broadcasting today.

After 4 very happy years we had to take the commercial decision based upon a number of factors.

1) Cost of "good" quality programming. Yes we could have got cheaper programming but not without denigrating the viewer experience

2) Lack of availability of good programming and rights.

3) The commercial revenues that were projected over the coming years.

I'd like to thank all those viewers who have supported the channel since 2003 I believe we created a great channel with programmes that golfers wanted to watch. We also managed to cater for a wide range of golf tastes so if a particular show wasn't for you another certainly would be just right.

The Shopping channel continues as does the US version of the Golf Channel.

Hello All, ... first of all may I take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very HAPPY & HEALTHY 2008 :-hny

Well as one who was an avid viewer of the Golf Channel Uk I will certainly miss it a lot.

Can anyone tell me if it is possible for me to pick up the American version of the Golf Channel ?

I live on the island of Corsica and I use the Astra satellite (beaming east) I have a 1mt dish and a Panasonic digibox.

I can only pick up the BBC for a couple of hours each day at best, so the Golf Channel UK made popular viewing for me during the evenings and it was FREE !!!

I'm retired and I don't have a card for Sky TV, so losing this great service is a big disappointment to say the least.
