ive just had this cricket jumping around my living room, I managed to catch him and put him outside were he belongs :-)

Ah, yes: Second Test starts tomorrow!

Rodded our drains recently and pulled through several dead bodies, including a Toad, Mice and what looked like part of a Newt (Toad's dinner?)

ive been watching a breeding pair of hobby on the land I metal detect, I will try and get some pictures of them if I can, my camera is not good for long distance but I will see what I can do :-).

Ive not been seeing much of the goldfinches for a few weeks, but they must have been visiting as there favourite seeds have been going down, but managed to get a glimpse of them this morning :-).

This is the best I could do with the camera I have, I did not want to get too close and disturb them too much, he/she was making a bit of a fuss and I was a good distance away,

Yes tivu, there was ringed a few days ago, 2 chicks in the nest, and the farmer said they was going mad at them all the time, very protective,

i will continue to watch them from afar with my binoculars :-).

LOL, yes most birders don't like being called twitchers, as they are considered as simply trophy hunters, only interested in seeing the most species during the year.

Nice photos Martin, lovely little raptors.

Not been doing much birding this year, hopefully off to France early September and may be in time to catch a glimpse of the Golden Orioles near my sister's place, before they head back to the sunnier climes of Africa, although may be too late, otherwise it's hunting for the Stone Curlews.

No wonder he told me off rolf :0, I will have to upgrade me camera when money permits its only a cheap one that I use atm Coolpix L120, yes lovely little birds a pleasure to watch them on the wing,
