Need Help Please

I have a dish pointed on hotbird (I guess) to watch the italian channels, the receiver a Humax f1-fox died after 10 years or honorable service. I have bought from ebay a HUMAX FOXSAT-HD FREESAT BOX, will it work?
I still have the dish pointed to the same satellite, I am new to this and appreciate any expert's advice.

Well it will - in non-Freesat mode.

But the box is designed primarily for use with UK stuff on 28E.

That said, many of us do use them for Hotbird etc.

I suggest you have a read of this: It's aimed at the Foxsat PVR, but the bits about using it on other Satellites is equally valid for the non-PVR version
