according to Sky they are FTA

They are FTV, not FTA.

That appallingly badly produced page also says

"GET 200 FREEVIEW TV CHANNELS WITH YOUR SKY PACKAGE

With any Sky TV package you choose, you also get access to more than 200 TV and radio channels for free. Included are terrestrial channels like BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 and Channel 4, as well as all those provided by Freeview™. "

So whoever they've got creating their Web Content not only doesn't know the difference between FTA and FTV, but doesn't realise that the Digital Terrestrial Freeview package is not fully available free on Satellite - Where, for example, is Dave?

Chiefly because folk usually bung their expired Subs Cards on eBay and the White ones have only been out a maximum of a few months.

Anyway, good that you've got one :)

that's true but you'll find their sometimes also those white cards, on the other hand e b a y usual kicks those auctions (often also the old cards)

I received my FTV (Freesat from Sky) white replacement card yesterday, posted by a relative from the UK.

However, the relative did not send the pre-paid envelope for the return of the old card which the letter says I must do ... as I am in the UK in short while it won't matter but does anyone know the address?

Does it even matter if I don't send the old card back, I cannot see Sky cutting me off but a charge maybe? 20 quid probably, haha

I was never asked to return the old card in a letter nor was an envelope provided there again perhaps I just did not read it properly!

I'm finally getting the Call Sky for a new Card Message (Just started today) - but I have no need of one and will just await the death of my Yellow House FSFS Card.

How long will the nag go on for as I loathe my "Backup" button?!

I cannot see them wanting a flood of old defunct cards, what does it say exactly on the letter?

Got my nag screen last Thursday on both boxes, cards arrived the following lunchtime.

The box will carry on displaying the nag screen at increasing intervals until it drives you daft. Every few minutes after a couple of weeks!!

Check here to see if you are entitled to a free replacement:

So as I have no need of a new Card, is there a way I can strangulate this big brother intrusion ? :-comp

(I'm not entitled to a freebie - being a Yorkshireman, I checked that out ages ago!)

Not that I know of :D

Presumably the nag screens will disappear when the swap is completed around October!

Yes, I would think so!

I wonder if removing the Card now (and depriving myself of its wondrous advantages) might stop it?

Might try after Midsomer Murders ..................

TBH, I only ever use it now to get Red Button text via RF into the Bedroom to get a quick run around the News and Sport when I wake up - the main box in there is a generic FTA Box as SWMBO insisted the Freesat HD Box went into the Living Room :-bash
