New to all of this - need some guidance!

First of all, hello all! My father bought a 7020 S and we were trying to figure out how to transfer keys from the computer to the receiver. Without any luck.

I just want to know how this is done. I understand that you need an image and an emu...Which image and emu should I download and how do I install them / add them to the receiver? We also tried to add some keys using DCC (Dreambox Control Commander), but it didn't work out very well. We've basically went from guide to guide and yet we can't figure it out.

Could you please help us? Just tell us which image and emu to download, where to download them and how to add them. And also where to download keys that you need for them...Would be VERY appreciated...!

Have you read The Idiot's Guide (several times)?

A quick guide would be:

1. read The Idiot's Guide
2. buy a null modem cable
3. Download an image e.g. Gemini (from i-have-a-dreambox.com)
4. Download Dreamup and Dreambox Edit.
5. Flash the image
6. Setup communication setup on Dreambox/ connect to your router
7. setup FTP on a PC
8. Read the Idiot's Guide again.
9. Download and install cccam.

The best way to learn is by reading and doing. It rarely goes well without a few attempts and I've not even touched upon setting up the dish or a motor.

Please have a read and a try; when you get stuck we're here. And when you're about to give up remember that it's very hard to kill your Dreambox.

Another question relating to networking I understand after reading the idiots guide that you need connect the dreambox to the router by ethernet cable etc, afterwards can make the 7020 wireless by USB adapter rather than by bridge ?
