Hi - A few month ago I loaded "news 24" into my channel lists on my Passion hd recieiver, but now when I select it, it is b/casing channel 5!, which I am quite pleased about, but when I PRESS the info button, it shows it listed still as news 24. whats happened to news 24 anyway? has it been re-named? TOM

News 24 moved months ago.

It's former slot is now occupied by the Freesat Version of Five (10773 H 22000 5/6).

BBC News is now on 11954 H 27500 2/3.

The news 24 stream that set up recently was just an engineering test to get C5 on air fta prior to the DSO in the Border Scotland ITV area in mid November.

It's 2/3 and is the FEC (Forward Error Correction), which is yet another of the parameters of Satellite signals - fortunately one which is generally dealt with Automatically by most Receiving equipment.

But it is always published on listings as it is occasionally needed - A topical case in point being reception of ITV HD on generic Receivers. My HD Receiver seems to prefer the FEC to be specified for HD Channels whereas it happily finds SD Channels on its own.
