Didn't really suffer signal drop off except when the snow covered the lnb's, then I was out with brush.

The installation is changing at Sat HQ and all the Triax dishes are moving plus another CM 1.2m is going to be placed behind the CM1.2m on the polarmount this new CM1.2M will be fixed higher and directed towards Nilesat and I will fix some Triax dishes lower down for Arabsat,Astra 28 and 19,Hotbird and 7 degrees east. Thought of the T 90 but I have the dishes shame not to use them.

Photos to follow.

Goed morgen GreenmanBelg :)

I would like you to give me some hopes in receiving Nilesat 102 (7.0°W) and Badr 4 (26.0°E) here in The Netherlands. How do you get them? What do you advice me in case I like to replace the Penta85?

Bedankt;)

no you need a proper motor to move the dish and use the polar mount and actuator

diseqc motors aren't suitable for channel master dishes

you could probably use a gibertini 1.2m dish on one if your setup is in a garden

Thanks wod:) why in the garden? As you can see by the foto-avatar, my system is placed on the roof.

Have a great Sunday:)

Wind loading is far less in a sheltered garden location compared to an exposed roof and it makes a big difference as to the motor you can use as well as to what brackets/pole/ fixings you can use. On a roof like that with a 1.2 CM Wod's giving good advice re: a polar mount and actuator.
There is a Superjack diseqc motor that looks more capable of carrying a 1.2 but still not in an exposed location.

Might follow the wod's advice if only I will be sure to get the 2 sats and (more important) in each weather condition

It's hard to give info for there...

…but in the centre of the UK

Badr 4

45cm* $ky dish .... Yemen's TP (no others** )
60cm* Dubai One etc. (but not MBC2**) are watchable but with low weather margin (5-10%)
80cm* you get MBC2 etc (with a low margin for MBC (5-10%)** & higher margin for Dubai One etc (20-25% med' rain/ cloud)
1m-1.1m+ and you should nail MBC2 etc.. in bad weather ....only to loose it in weather that would normally block $ky/ Freesat on a $ky z1 dish.

*45cm, 60cm & 80cm have to be 100% setup throughout.

Badr 6**
Estimates here are 2.4m-3m+...

Nilesat**
For Nilesat it’s very unpredictable (hotspots/ cold spots/ noise level etc.. )… but a 2.4m gets all Vs & Hs here ...but has to be 100% setup right... ideally in a rural location and no major local (especially city) noise issues. Prime focus may help with local & ground noise issues**. Margins can still be low on mid to lower strength Tps. Time of day effects the signal greatly for 7w where mid day to mid afternoon signals are far lower and the peak values are for evening to early morning only - the aim usually is to get the signals mid day/ mid afternoon.

**..but we're always working on it.

where is the lnb on the penta btw...

can't remember if I asked this before ...

...is the LNB in the middle of the holder... as far back as it will go.. or as far foreword.

btw.. where you are you might be able to reduce sizes by 30% or more ... a 1.2m should get many Vs and could get some Hs on 7w..

I'm extremely happy ....:):):)

I was trying to find some signal on Badr but just like (almost) everybody else, the strong 28.2 est or 23.5 est disturb the 26.0 est.
Then I fooled the receiver and I changed Badr from 26 to 25 est and from USALS to Disecq ....the result is now that I see Aljazeera's channels @ 12034H very well :-rofl2 PLUS Dubai's channels @12130V but not very well and other TP's like 12524H, 12184H.

Unfortunately the 12.341 H ,27500 3/4 mentioned by @pipino is not receivable.

I also see France 2, 3 and 5 @ 11590V on 7W and some other TP's but not the strong @12284V or 12256V....

NOW THE QUESTION: IS ALL NORMAL ?

How about changing the Penta85 which performs almost like a 100 cm dish into a bigger one? Could a 120cm get 7W and the TP 12.341 H @26Est?

Thanks:)

Those are actually on 5W and are so strong that it is perfectly possible for them to mislead during a scan of 7W.

ok pipino:)..it can be done but I don't like extra pistons, attuators or extra cables from the roof....can I install a 1.50 cm on a clarke tech HH 390?

And after all, are you sure I will get 12284V or 12256V @7W ? In each meteo condition?
Thanks

i think HH390 wouldn´t stand OP150 as its slitly heavy but with OP120 i think yes ,,regarding the reception ..i can tell you there is no garanty on anything specialy receiving signals on fring areas sometimes you have to make experiments like most of us here in this board ..or ask guys with the proper gear near your area about the possibility of receiving the signal you want hopefuly someone could give some advise...good luck ;)

It's a pity they are encrypted. Plenty of other sports channels though.

actualy one of the best sport packages around and its very cheap to subscribe yearly (about 70 us$) ,where i am many bars use aljazeera sport video mixed with spanish radio sound"cadena SER" (special piece of hardware with a 5seg delay system) to watch la liga , when police raided one of them once suspecting a pirate D+ signal they where surprised with a arabic speaking channel:-rofl2
