No need to format the disk when this comes up when your scanning for a file or press the record button.
Take the drive off the Box by using Dismount option in management.
Attach the Drive to your Laptop or Desktop.
My computer, right mouse click on the drive, properties, then click on the tools button, then click on the button check now. This will clear any errors on the disk, when your done, defrag the drive in accessories and system tools and this will improve performance when your playing back.
