Yes Steve I am aware the 5402 is a little better than the 6900, ive been following Wills post for a fair few years now:), from what I can gather the 5402 mk3 and the X2 are about the same, but I do know a chap who has both @Costactc what has the edge on sensitivity X2 / 5402 please.

There both awesome blindscan receivers and both tuners are extremely sensitive but I have to give the nod to the x2 premium. However, the 5302 is probably the most sensitive I have ever tested but its blindscan is like watching grass grow and that's why I prefer using the 5402.

It´s just a whim at the moment, want to get back to playing with electronics and large radio gear ( if I´m allowed by the management ) just thought a cage could be a good thing to start with to block unwanted interference, you would not believe the amount of interference we have round here from internet and tv companies using various frequencies to sell their wares.

Edit, would also stop anything I produce getting out!
What about a converted shipping container? There's no mobile reception in my friend's steel workshop.

Thanks for the thought, I will look into it, but doubt the local town hall ( Ayuntamiento ) or senior management in the house will agree to that!

I agree, the 5302 is the best receiver for sensitivity I have in my arsenal of receivers. but as you say blind scan is like watching paint dry!

Don't know about that one Wod, I have the TM 8000 which is the same software as the 5502 and 5302, sensitive but not as good as the 5302.

Signs back on the door, tonight a little known girl from Tiger Bay, who is happy on roofs!

Best said with a good Scottish accent, she´s a Bonnie Tyler!

How does the 5502 compare to them?
