Hi I want to install freesat in my static caravan as the normal reception for TV & mobile is very poor because of the location ( sand dunes & pine trees) but when I went on line to get the dish coordinates the line to astra which points to Africa is directly facing the hilly sand dunes and pine trees would I get the signal if I tilted the dish upwards? as the site will not let us mount dishes on top of our vans. Cheers

You cant tilt the dish as it would then not be pointing at the satellite.

Best you can do is put a high pole up next to the van and mount it as high as you can get away with.

You might find you clear the trees anyway as the satellites are about 25 degrees above the horizon in the UK so unless you are very close to the trees you might be lucky.

I didnt mean to tilt it too much, as I already have the dish, if I invested or borrowed a meter could I connect it to the dish and find out if I have a good signal before I invest in a receiver?. A pole is not an option as the dishes are not allowed to be that high but thanks all the same
