Here is some more information about the problem.
I got an information letter from Satcure:

Hi Martin,

Re the sky listing problem,

The main issue is with the Panasonic TU-DSB30 but we have also come across
the fault on the TU-DSB20 and TU-DSB31.

Michael Dranfield also tells me he has come across the problem on some
Amstrads.

The problem also seems to be affecting SKY+ boxes both Pace and Amstrad
If you are recording two programs the listings are not available, also the
clock disappears and if you attempt to view one of the programmes being
recorded you get the message "this program has not started yet".
The recording is fine when replayed later + if you cancel the 2nd
recording
everything returns to normal.

We are also getting reports of some channels missing from the EPG - they
seem to go missing for a few hours then re-appear

The suspicion is that it is resulting from the re-arranging of the EPG's
by
Sky with the problem changing from day to day & even hour to hour.

Regards
John

Hi puffin,
That sounds like good news. If it is affecting all of the brands you menntion I suppose we could reasonably expect Sky to ,do something about it. Or am I being naive.

.... with the problem changing from day to day & even hour to hour.

That feeling, ummm ............. not that I have noticed any number changes yet.

As for the phone number. If there is a specific message for Panny users I would be interested to know more - or, I could phone in the morning

Well my card is for the Yorkshire Region. And I don't have a problem anymore. I wonder what the problem could have been .......................:-doh!

Sky has apologised for an EPG problem affecting some customers in the Midlands and Yorkshire regions.

Viewers tuned to BBC One suffered a loss in EPG listings.

"Working with the BBC, we believe we have isolated the issue to a change made at their broadcast systems last weekend." said a SKY spokesperson.

SKY seem positively diplomatic in that last quote?

Very strange!!
My card is also in the Yorkshire region.
I can't see how BBC could affect the EPG in this way though?

I believe your 'region' data is stored on the card.

And just when I thought the BBC had nothing to do with SKY - they p-off loads of SKY users. I am sure SKY were on the bad side of livid:D

Have Fun,

Mark.
