Has anyone got list of 28.2E transponders that we SHOULD be able to get in the Canaries?
I still think the dish is not set up properly
I can't get 68 out of the 101 TPs

I am in Gran Canaria and have just got my dm500s working, now that I have a decent broadband connection.

Afraid I dont have a list but I am clearing 183 channels and I know some are still missing which I shall add later.

I recall the scan was of about 68 transponders. Hope this helps

Hi Tivu,

You are correct, I have not seen one yet either.

I'm here on an extended holiday and thought this info may be of help to oldfart.

regards, barry

clearing about 500 channels on 28.2 - but want to know which transponders are unobtainable - i.e no point in chasing them/resetting dish
will wait until March(ish) for 1N

If you want to upload a list of what you get I would be happy to look and compare with my own reception - if that's any help to you. I know that my dish alignment is fine despite the strong winds we have had over the past few weeks.

Hi FRINGE, I have my eye on a second hand 2.7 channel master dish here in GC but, the guy tells me that he has replaced it with a 3.1
as he could not get BBC & ITV in HD with it and now, he has everything HD.

You have a similar size dish and I wondered if your reception of these channels is good. Obviously I dont want to buy this dish if its not large enough and I wondered why he was unable to receive these channels. Someone suggested a larger dish is needed in GC than in Tenerife but that seems a bit llogical. Any advice would be appreciated

Hi barryt.

I have no problem with ITV 1 HD (10832,H,22000,5/6) but cannot get BBC HD (10847,V,23000,8/9). To be honest, HD reception is not an issue with me at the moment but may be when I get a second Humax for my cinema room. I have also heard that the BBC are to axe BBC HD and replace it with BBC2 HD (a simulcast of BBC2) as part of its cost cutting measures.

Reception of BBC1, BBC2, ITV, CH4, BBC3, BBC4, FIVE, etc, etc, is fine 24/7 all year round.

As an aside, I used to be able to get BBC HD during 2010 by pressing the red button when watching BBC1 but that option does not seem to be available anymore. Not sure why.

One thing that I would promote is an Invacom (or similar quality) LNB and a Humax receiver in order to maximise signal strength/quality (that's 2 things :)).

Cant help on the Gran Canaria question but like you I cant see why dish size would be an issue between our 2 islands given a clear line of sight.

Hi FRINGE,

Many thanks for your reply, I think the guy here just wanted all the HD channels he can get but, I really dont see what all the HD fuss is about and would be happy to receive only SD channels.

Your setup receives exactly what I would like, the LNB should be no problem but my dear old Humax died some time ago. The dreamboxes are not bad for signal strength on my small dish when compared to a sky box so hopefully they would suffice and of course, they have other quite different benefits.

The channel master dish is just laying at the back of this man's garden and I have for some time thought it must be worth a try, so hopefully, I will soon be able to confirm that I am able to receive the same channels as you.

Thank you once again for your help, it is much appreciated.

regards,
barryt

The Topic you bumped is from nearly three years ago.

Much has changed since then, with Astra 2F and 2E coming into service.

There's a great deal of Canaries related reception info in the Topics associated with these launches. Just have a search around.

Just search for "Canaries" and all the newer Topics should appear (With luck!).
