Hello,

I'm new in the whole satellite thing,
but I wanted to start with hooking up my dish to my HTPC running ubuntu.
Does anybody know if the "S2-3650-CI USB" is compatible with linux?
(since it's usb and all).

If not, does anyone know of an external option?
The reason why I am looking for an external and not a PCI card is I only have 1 PCI slot available, and most PCI cards require 2 slots (1 extra for the CI module which I need for my Pay TV).

Thanks in advance!

Check the hardware info in the dvb wiki at _www.linuxtv.org/

Don't know the card, but may be something in there?

Just checked the wiki, there there is some support in Linux -

_www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TechnoTrend_TT-connect_S2-3650_CI

If you check the kernel output, the front end is found and the driver inituialised, so it should be OK (the CI interface doesn't work yet, some work to be done still maybe).
