I am developing an AGC system for a satellite positioner. I take the AGC signal at the receiver tuner. on my main installation (2m prime focus) the variation is related to the signal level. this signal decreases as it moves away from the ideal point. I have just done the same test with an offset of 90cm and I have a strange reaction: the level of the AGC signal remains at 100% close to the ideal pointing then the quality drops to 0 as it moves away but the AGC signal remains at 100% !!! I changed the LNB for an inverto but same result!

I found the cause of the problem and it was not obvious: the cable which comes from the 90cm measures 10m, the cable which comes from the 2m measures 35m.
the signal from the small antenna saturates the input of the tuner of the sf8008, I added a 20m cable extension and an 8 output splitter and there the signal drops in strength but almost not in quality and like that my system based on the AGC works!!!
the AGC signal is taken in the control loop of the sf8008 tuner then slightly amplified to arrive at the positioner on an analog/digital card (ad548). Use is optional, it is triggered by pressing a button on the remote control. This is an aid and not a mandatory process.

That only works when channel is tuned, it doesn't work when signal finder is open. Also it doesn't work for unlocked, even when driver supports unlocked

Since other receivers can provide a signal level without lock , and within the Octagon section there is now the modification to do similar, there should be a solution (though it may require tapping into i/o data for the OSG).

Ok, got /web/signal working in OpenVix, gbtrio4Kpro. SNR gets updated also when signal finder is open and shows unlocked values.

Only needed to add "improved" info.py file to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/OpenWebif/controllers/models/

But there are few problems. Unlocked is only possible for boxes with avl62x1 tuner. Values are tunes specific, "raw data". Did not find good way of checking which tuner is active in signal finder.

For these reasons I don't think we are going to see this feature in "official" images / webif anytime soon. But it's easily doable to for specific E2 (avl62x1) box.

I used ISPY.exe to see the commands between my sf8008 and the PC, it's not very clear!
I would like to see all the dialogue in HEXA display, if anyone has a suggestion for software to view ethernet traffic?

Both /web/signal and /api/signal are now updated when signal finder screen is open.
