Now I realise why MTV Live and Nick Toons started new copies of their channels on 11.224/V a few days ago too.

Finland and eastern Europe too.

In Finland 11.45 - 11.70 GHz are pretty strong, even on an 80cm dish in Helsinki and a 90cm in Lapland.

For 12.50 – 12.75 GHz the verticals are strong but the horizontals where a bit weaker.

Well that depends on which beam. If it is PE that beam has not been used from 28E.

I thought all frequencies could be mapped to any beam.

I'm in the UK at the moment so I can't tell, as they are all strong here. I'm sure if it is a spot beam we'll hear from people in the fringes once Sky map the channels to this transponder.

To me it looks similar strength to 12207V.

I concur its 1N Europe beam from the following unscientific look at the powers..

FREQ - beam - SNR/AGC

12130H - beam to be decided - 90/87%

11126V - 2F UK- 97/98% (the strongest DVB-S tp on 28E here by miles)

10714H - 1N UK - 93/92%

12148H - 1N Europe - 90/87%

12207V - 1N Europe - 90/86%

All done within a few minutes of each other on my 7020

Looks like some moves have started already by Sky to get their channels off Eutelsat.

A copy of 11508H has started on 10921H
A copy of 11565V has started on 12304H
A copy of 11603V has started on 12188H

On Gandia 60Km south of Valencia (Spain)

Measured with a DM800
10921 8.5db Looks like Astra 1N spot
12304 13.5db ????
12188 15.0db ????

On the 1N pan European and 2A South I usually have around 17-18d and with 2F spot I have around 10db, so to me is difficult to say where those two last TP's are coming from.

Obviously measuring with something not up to the job. Measured on a 1.1m dish and Satlook Color HD.

2A South: 16.5dB;
1n UK spot: 11.4dB;
1n PE beam: 13.5dB;
2F UK spot: 8.3dB;
12304H: 13.6dB;

Those that have been duplicated are from the S1 beam which we don't get in the Canaries without a 3M+ dish anyway. So at the moment making no impact here yet.
But on the Superbeam (Lyngsat's name not mine) there are an awful lot of free channels that we do get that many people will miss.
True movies, CBS reality, tiny pop, music channels etc
Not the best TV channels but they are free

Never said so :rolleyes:

As I mentioned those where just relative measurements and comparisons taken with a DM800, I did not mentioned but the antenna was a Tecatel 1.20 offset.

Most of those are in the band (11.200-11.450) staying on Eutelsat, assuming they don't start switching too many channels around.

Hi

Two frequencies that have been dormant for a while have also been activated, (not sure when), namely
11954H
12129V

Didn't carry any real transmissions or stream ID, when last I checked, though.

Regards,
Bengt
