I need to connect two bits of Cat5E cable in what coukld be a damp environment in the winter/spring.
Is there a preferred method for this with direct wire to wire crimping that retains the recommended network speed, or should I fall back on the standard terminations and a female/female coupler, then cover with amalgamating tape ?
I have previously reconstructed a cut Cat7 cable, soldering each wire separately before wrapping back up, but this is in a remote woodland area.
